Rolex supports the most prestigious tournaments, players and organizations in tennis.
From the four Grand Slam® tournaments – the Australian Open, Roland-Garros, The Championships, Wimbledon, and the US Open – to Swiss phenomenon Roger Federer, Rolex’s contribution to excellence in tennis is based on a rich heritage of more than 40 years, championing performance while respecting the sport’s finest traditions.
The AUSTRALIAN OPEN
The Australian Open holds a special place in the tennis calendar. The players, rejuvenated after their break, reconvene down under for the first Grand Slam® tournament of the year. The Rod Laver Arena, the centre court at Melbourne Park, is named after the Australian legend who captured his national title three times and inspired generations of players to push the boundaries in their quest for constant improvement and lasting excellence. Swiss maestro Roger Federer has enjoyed considerable success at the event, winning six men’s singles titles.
Rolex’s special relationship with Roland-Garros as Premium Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch was inaugurated in 2019. The tennis crème de la crème has gathered in Paris since 1928 for this Grand Slam® tournament – the only one of the four held on clay and whose origins date back to 1891.
ROLEX AND WIMBLEDON
In 1978, Rolex became Official Timekeeper at The Championships, Wimbledon, a pioneering union that marked the start of the brand’s burgeoning partnership with the sport of tennis. Since then, Rolex has been a constant presence at this revered event, bearing witness to some of the most fabled moments in its glorious history – when champions have been crowned, legends created and cherished memories forged.
Rolex and The US OPEN
The US Open is one of the world’s oldest tennis tournaments, with roots dating back to 1881. For more than 40 years the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City has been the scene of some of the most epic matches in the sport’s history. Rolex became the Official Timekeeper in 2018, partnering an event whose heritage and prestige align perfectly with the brand’s founding principle of seeking perpetual excellence in all its undertakings.
